Virtusa opens technology center in Troy, adding 200 new jobs
Virtusa, a global information technology company, has opened a new tech center in Troy and is hiring up to 200 employees by the end of 2014.
The center will allow the company to offer high-quality, cost-effective IT services to its clients, improving the effectiveness of its optimized global software delivery, according to a news release.
Headquartered in Massachusetts, Virtusa officials said Troy was selected as the site because it is near more than 15 colleges and universities in the Albany area, giving it the ability to source and collaborate with local technology talent.
The new center is designed to support several innovation initiatives for Virtusa’s health care, financial and media and information services clients.
