Manufacturing, education sectors collaborate in vibrant Greenville/Spartanburg economic hub. Industry coming home.

The Wall Street Journal spotlights South Carolina’s Greenville/Spartanburg thriving mmanufacturing hub in a great feature today — and demonstrates why more American companies consider bringing their offshore production home.

The area boasts Michelin’s North American headquarters, General Electric’s gas turbine factory, BMW’s auto plant – plus a mass of suppliers and partner companies that provide rich support to the “Big Boys.”

Closely aligned with industries’ needs are the colleges, tech schools and universities nearby.  Their product:  A  ready supply of skilled workers – including engineers much sought after in countless other cities.

Studies show more and more US companies are considering “re-shoring” – bringing their foreign production back to the US for a stronger labor force and supply chain.
